Golfing day at Baltray
Golfing day at Baltray to be hosted by Frankie Dettori on September 27th
Racing legend Frankie Dettori will host a very special golf event at the beautiful course in Baltray before racing at Bellewstown
The inaugural Barney Curley Golf Classic is set to be held at the County Louth Golf Club in Baltray, a championship links golf course that has twice hosted the Irish Open. The event will be kindly hosted by world-famous jockey Frankie Dettori and will raise funds for Direct Aid for Africa (DAFA), the Barney Curley inspired charity funding medical and educational projects in Zambia.
Taking place the day before the inaugural Barney Curley Charity Cup at Bellewstown in which Dettori will go head to head with champion trainer Willie Mullins with two seven-rider teams, the event promises to be a memorable one. Thirty-six teams have already signed up to take part in the golf challenge with players from Ireland, Britain and the US competing including well known horse racing and GAA stars.
The beautiful coastal links, which is just north of Dublin, hosts some of the best greens in Ireland, and the event will see teams of four competing for an array of prizes as well as their pride, all in support of the invaluable work of DAFA.
