Thanks to you, new equipment is heading for St Luke's
We’re so grateful for your support at our two fundraising events last month, the Barney Curley Golf Classic at Baltray hosted by Frankie Dettori and the Barney Curley DAFA Charity Cup at Bellewstown where two teams of seven jockeys led by Frankie Dettori and Willie Mullins went head-to-head.
We’re delighted that the events raised enough money for vital equipment for St Luke’s Hospital in Zambia to be fully operational. A new X-ray machine, diagnostic ultrasound, haematology analyser, and computers and printers are now on their way to the hospital in the rural area of Chipata and will be operational in November.
This equipment was a missing link in the hospital facilities and will be vital for saving lives in a severely impoverished area. St Luke’s opened in April 2023 and treated 3,000 patients in its first month. Your donations are hugely appreciated and will soon be making an enormous difference to health care in the area.
